Practical applications of deposit-scale structural geology using Leapfrog Geo 3-D modelling software. This in-person 2-day course is designed for geologists in mining, resource and exploration who are looking to build upon their structural data collection, interpretation, analytical, and/or 3-D modelling skill set.
The course objective is to provide participants with relevant examples of where and how structural geology has been applied in the real world and reinforced with Leapfrog Geo case study exercises.

Jos Hantelmann is a Geologist with more than 13 years of experience focused on gold, silver, lead, zinc, copper and iron-ore deposits/projects throughout the Americas. Including geological and structural modelling in 3-D, supervision and interpretation of geochemical and geophysical studies, database management, geological logging, mineral identification (petrographic studies),
fluid inclusion studies, and determining mineral paragenesis. Assist in the development of projects from exploration greenfield / brownfield until Prefeasibility stages. Member of AusIMM CP (Geo) since 2012.
Mr. Hantelmann specializes in Geological investigations, geological and structural modelling in 3-D, rock and mineral identification, geochemical sampling, development and supervision of drilling programs and geophysical studies, geological database management, logging and QA/QC protocols, preparation of technical reports (NI 43-101, JORC).
Wayne Barnet is a Principal Consultant with 26 years of experience in the mining and exploration industry. He has been employed over a period of eight years as a mining operations-based geotechnical engineer and applied structural geologist. Subsequently, Wayne has performed the role of consulting structural geology specialist in mining and exploration in Africa, North America, South America, and Asia. Consequently, he specialises in defining the structural
geology of mining projects to properly characterize the rock mass for geotechnical engineering applications - for scoping to pre-feasibility studies, as well as problem-solving in active mining
operations.
Mr. Wayne is a geological modelling expert and undertakes and provides training in structural and geotechnical drill core logging, open pit and underground mapping, geological data management, data QA/QC, and statistical analysis of structural data. He has provided formal applied structural geology training to over 1000 geologists and engineers internationally.
These versatile skills have also allowed him to provide practical, goal-focussed structural consulting in diamond, precious and base metal exploration and resource characterization on numerous projects and active operations on all major mining-active continents; for understanding controls on mineralization and targeting purposes. Wayne manages and contributes to the geology resource and geotechnical teams in Vancouver.
Mr. Wayne specializes in Structural Geology; Kimberlite Geology; Engineering Geology; 3D Computer-based Geological
Modelling and GIS.
Findlay Fraser is a Principal Consultant (Structural Geology) and specializes in the generation of complex 3D structural and lithological models to support multidisciplinary studies, with over 14 years of experience in the field.
Mr. Findlay is an expert implicit modeller and has designed database to grade control geological modelling workflows which facilitate continuous updates for over 20 operating mines, as well as teaching >500 attendees practical structural and lithological modelling skills. Findlay has worked on a broad range of commodities and deposit styles, including VMS deposits, porphyries, kimberlites, orogenic gold, iron ore and coal.
Mr. Findlay specializes in 3D Geological modelling; Structural Geology; Implicit Modelling, Grade Control
Workflows.
