This course covers the basics of setting up a SLOPE/W stability analysis, in addition to reviewing more complex options such as slip surface optimization, probabilistic and sensitivity analyses, and seismic loading in SLOPE/W.
Join Seequent’s Aida Rezapour who will discuss the fundamental concepts as well as more complex options in SLOPE/W.
At the end of this course, you will understand:
• The basic theory and features of SLOPE/W
• Geometry creation
• The material models available and their associated parameters
• Methods for defining the trial slip surfaces
• Options for adding pore water pressures
• The reinforcement functionality in SLOPE/W
• Methods for conducting probabilistic and sensitivity analyses
• How to review stability results, and check convergence
Duration: 4-hour sessions run over 2 days (8-hours total)
Who is it suitable for?
• New users who would like a solid understanding of the basics before getting started
• Current users who feel they need a better understanding of what GeoStudio can do
• Those who are interested in GeoStudio, and would like to try before they buy
What will I get from the course?
• Prior to your course, you will be contacted via email with instructions for accessing the latest version of GeoStudio subscription for the duration of your training, along with the required resources
• Certificate of completion
What should I have?
• A stable internet connection (https://support.goto.com/meeting/system-check)
• A secondary screen is highly recommended
To ensure a quality training experience for all participants, courses are capped at eight attendees. Once the registration limit is reached, additional registrants will be added to a waitlist and notified if a spot becomes available.

Aida Rezapour holds a master’s degree in geotechnical engineering from McMaster University. Her academic background is in stability, stress, and deformation analysis of geo-structures. She has worked at consulting companies like Golder. She has engineering experience with stability analysis, settlement and consolidation analysis, liquefaction assessment, as well as, tailings deposition planning, TSF site assessment, ash pond construction phasing, and closure design. She is now a geotechnical engineer at Seequent. Her focal point is the technical assessment of geotechnical problems and mine waste management using Seequent solutions, like GeoStudio Suite.
