In June's GeoStudio TechTalk - SIGMA/W Material Model Series: Triaxial Tests from Lab to Numerical Analysis - we will wrap up the SIGMA/W Material Models series with a deeper dive into triaxial tests and their importance in determining the best SIGMA/W material model for your project.
This webinar will be run in English at 12pm and 8pm EDT.Â

Given the relative simplicity of its execution, the triaxial test has become the quasi–de facto choice to test soils in the laboratory. The results it provides are essential to calibrate the soil models used in a stress-strain analysis performed in SIGMA/W.

Join Seequent's Vincent Castonguay in this free webinar, and listen to him:
• Introduce the triaxial test and how it is performed in the laboratory;
• Explain the triaxial test plots and result interpretation;
• Demonstrate how to simulate a triaxial test in SIGMA/W; and
• How to use different soil material models in SIGMA/W to deepen your understanding of soil mechanics.
This webinar will be run in English at 12pm and 8pm EDT.Â

Vincent Castonguay did his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in civil engineering at Université Laval (Québec City, Canada). His doctoral research led him to explore the inner workings of the NorSand constitutive law, in order to improve its behaviour prediction capabilities for sands subjected to cyclic loading. He joined the GeoStudio research and development team at Seequent in 2020, where he primarily works on the development of the SIGMA/W module. Vincent served as the Young Professional Representative on the Canadian Geotechnical Society's national executive committee for 2020-2021. He was also co-chair of the organizing committee for the 2019 St.John’s cYGEGC. The time he has left in a week is ideally spent hiking, sleeping in a tent, or breaking his hands on a climbing wall.
