Join us for a workshop in Leapfrog Energy focused on sedimentary basin workflows. You'll discover the tools and features designed to assist you in creating more precise models for Geothermal, Wind, CCUS and Oil & Gas projects. Initial modelling experience with Leapfrog or attendance at our “Leapfrog Energy: Basics and Model Building” workshop is a prerequisite to this workshop.
This course will teach you to build a geological model based on well and seismic (SEG-Y) datasets and data analysis using block modelling techniques.
Join the 4-hour interactive workshop covering:
- Importing 3D seismic SEG-Y data
- Building a geological model from seismic horizons and well data
- Evaluating results onto discrete block models
- Performing calculations, applying filters and reporting modelling results
Datasets and access to Leapfrog Energy will be provided during the workshop session.
Vaiva is a professional hydrogeologist with experience in the geothermal industry. She obtained her BSc degree in Hydrogeology from Vilnius University and MSc in Geothermal Energy from the University of Iceland.
Vaiva enjoys teaching and is passionate about geological modelling, geothermal resources estimation and mapping.
Before joining Seequent Vaiva worked for Reykjavik University, Iceland GeoSurvey and Catalan GeoSurvey. Her responsibilities included teaching, 3D geological modelling, geothermal resources monitoring, mapping, and estimation.
Vaiva currently works as a Customer Solutions Specialist within Seequent's Energy Team, where she focuses on teaching, workflow development and providing optimised solutions to geothermal industry professionals.
Ollie is an exploration geoscientist with a decade of experience in the oil and gas industry working in the field internationally with WesternGeco, the geophysical wing of Schlumberger. Initially focused on acquiring, processing, and interpreting seismic reflection data, he diversified his skillset by joining the Seequent Energy team.
He now develops and teaches robust Leapfrog modelling workflows for high-enthalpy and low-temperature geothermal, offshore windfarm projects, CO2 and H2 storage and Lithium brine extraction.
Additionally, Ollie manages Seequent’s Energy customer base in the EMEA region and provides technical advice concerning Seequent’s Geophysical solutions.
He is a member of the PESGB, EAGE, SEG, AAPG, a Fellow of the Geological Society and part of the WING UK committee.
