Join us for an introductory workshop on Leapfrog Energy. You'll discover the tools and features designed to assist you in creating more precise models for Geothermal, Wind, CCUS and Oil & Gas projects. Whether sedimentary, metamorphic or igneous, depths of centimetres, metres or kilometres, Leapfrog Energy is your flexible subsurface modelling tool for the energy sector.
Over two 4-hour morning sessions, you will learn the basic concepts and tools necessary to start using Leapfrog Energy: introduction to the interface, basic geological modelling, dynamic model updating and output generation. During the workshop, you will build a basic geological model using well data, maps, GIS lines and structural data. You will also learn the basics of numerical modelling and practice using geophysical and temperature data.
Join an 8-hour interactive workshop covering:
·      Navigating the user interface
·      Basic functions and workflows
·      Importing and visualising well temperature and geophysical data
·      Working with GIS data, maps and photos
·      Basic geological and numerical modelling
·      Dynamic model updating   Â
·      Building a geological model without wells but with other data such as a geological map, structural measurements or cross-sections.
We will also teach how to use features in Leapfrog Energy for report writing or presentation purposes, such as image rendering, sharing scenes with Leapfrog Viewer, and creating movies and cross-sections.
Datasets and access to Leapfrog Energy will be provided during the workshop sessions.
Vaiva is a professional hydrogeologist with experience in the geothermal industry. She obtained her BSc degree in Hydrogeology from Vilnius University and MSc in Geothermal Energy from the University of Iceland.
Vaiva enjoys teaching and is passionate about geological modelling, geothermal resources estimation and mapping.Â
Â
Before joining Seequent Vaiva worked for Reykjavik University, Iceland GeoSurvey and Catalan GeoSurvey. Her responsibilities included teaching, 3D geological modelling, geothermal resources monitoring, mapping, and estimation.
Vaiva currently works as a Customer Solutions Specialist within Seequent's Energy Team, where she focuses on teaching, workflow development and providing optimised solutions to geothermal industry professionals.Â
Ollie is an exploration geoscientist with a decade of experience in the oil and gas industry working in the field internationally with WesternGeco, the geophysical wing of Schlumberger. Initially focused on acquiring, processing, and interpreting seismic reflection data, he diversified his skillset by joining the Seequent Energy team.
He now develops and teaches robust Leapfrog modelling workflows for high-enthalpy and low-temperature geothermal, offshore windfarm projects, CO2 and H2 storage and Lithium brine extraction.
Additionally, Ollie manages Seequent’s Energy customer base in the EMEA region and provides technical advice concerning Seequent’s Geophysical solutions.
He is a member of the PESGB, EAGE, SEG, AAPG, a Fellow of the Geological Society and part of the WING UK committee.Â
