The first day (4 hours) will be spent reviewing the theory behind SLOPE/W, setting up a stability analysis involving definition of materials, spatial functions and trial slip surfaces. Also, more complex problems will be explored such as slip surface optimization, incorporating pore water pressure into your SLOPE/W analysis and finally how to analyse slope stabilization measures in the form of reinforcements.
The second day (4 hours) will be spent reviewing the theory behind SEEP/W, discussing the distinction between steady-state and transient flow problems, and the focus on various examples in the SEEP/W domain, analysing complex flow conditions involving saturated and unsaturated stratum. If time permits, a brief insight into the SEEP 3D domain.
If time permits, a brief insight into the SLOPED3D will be included.
What should I have?
• A stable internet connection
• A secondary screen is highly recommended.
• Training licences and materials will be provided for this course.
The course is capped to ensure a quality training experience for all participants. Once the registration limit is reached, additional registrants will be added to a waitlist and notified if a spot becomes available.
