GeoStudio Core Remote Fundamentals

Take a deep dive (3 days, 4hours each) into GeoStudio Core, which includes SLOPE/W, SEEP/W and SIGMA/W. This instructor-led remote course covers the fundamental concepts of each analyses type, as well as tools and features to complete comprehensive slope stability analyses with GeoStudio Core.

GeoStudio Core Remote Fundamentals

Join us in this instructor-led remote course to learn the fundamental concepts and tools necessary to get you going with GeoStudio Core.


This course will be delivered as three, four-hour sessions run over the course of three days (3 x 4hr = 12 hrs total).

 

You will have the option to select either from a two-day or three-day course:

 

SLOPE/W+SEEP/W: Days 1 and 2

SLOPE/W+SEEP/W+SIGMA/W: Days 1-3

 

Course Details

To make the most of this course, ensure you have a stable internet connection. A secondary screen is highly recommended.


Pre-requisite - complete the GeoStudio Remote Getting Started course and have a basic understanding of LEM and FEM methods.

- 7 February, 1:30-3:30pm AEST

- 20 March, 1:30-3:30pm AEST

Or, take the course in your own time on MySeequent.

Day one

 Four hours of training
1:30pm - 5:30pm AEST


Set up a SLOPE/W and SLOPE3D stability analysis and review more complex options such as slip surface optimisation, probabilistic and sensitivity analyses, and seismic loading.


Day two

Four hours of training
1:30pm - 5:30pm AEST


Set up a SEEP/W and SEEP3D analysis and review more complex topics such as specialised boundary conditions and convergence issues.

 


Day three

Four hours of training
1:30pm - 5:30pm AEST


Set up a SIGMA/W analysis, analysis types, soil strength models, boundary conditions, stress-based stability, Strength Reduction Stability (SRS), and consolidation analyses.

Geoff Plastow

Senior Geophysicist

Seequent

Geoff is a professional Geophysicist with 15 years’ experience in mining exploration and applied geophysics.

Geoff has an educational background in Computer Science and Geophysics. He started his career processing and interpreting near-surface seismic data contributing to the National Earthquake Hazards Reduction Program in Canada.


Moving into exploration Geopshyics, he has experience with airborne and ground geophysical data specializing in Electromagnetic, Potential Fields and Radiometric techniques.


Geoff has been using Oasis montaj for over 10 years and is an active member of the Geophysical community and the Geosoft GX Development Community.


In 2018 Geoff joined Seequent and is based in Vancouver, Canada. In his current role as Senior Geophysicist he contributes to training, project assistance, and supporting users globally.
