Dive into the fascinating world of geothermal resources with this free webinar as we illuminate Steptoe Valley's subsurface structures using public domain data and an integrated 3D conceptual model. Don't miss this opportunity to explore the valley's geothermal potential through cutting-edge technology!
Â
Join Josh Sellars, Project Geophysicist at Seequent, as he masterfully constructs a 3D conceptual model of Steptoe Valley Basin in north-eastern Nevada, utilising public domain data from the United States Geological Survey and University of Nevada, Reno, available through the Geothermal Data Repository (GDR). Watch as GM-SYS Profile interpretations are seamlessly combined with historical drilling data, generating a vivid 3D Leapfrog model that uncovers the secrets of the subsurface and pinpoints promising geothermal exploration targets.
Witness the power of collaboration as Seequent Central, a cloud-hosted visualisation and model management environment, connects Geology with Geophysics and facilitates cross-product communication, allowing for continuous iteration and refinement of interpretations.
Don't miss this unique opportunity to gain valuable insights into the world of geothermal resource exploration, brought to life by the synergy of Leapfrog, Oasis montaj, and GM-SYS.
Josh is a Geoscientist based in Vancouver, Canada specializing in geophysical processing, interpretation, and geological modelling for exploration and feasibility studies in the Energy space. He holds a BSc in Geophysics from Memorial University.
Integration and management of data from multiple fields of geoscience is key to developing a holistic understanding of the subsurface for Geothermal, Hydrocarbon, and CO2 storage and monitoring projects, which is Josh’s main area of focus.
Having joined Seequent in 2017 he has diligently connected Geophysics with Geology leveraging Seequent’s product suite to assist our North American Energy clients de-risk exploration. In his current role as Project Geophysicist he enjoys teaching, supporting, and advising Geologists and Geophysicists using Seequent products in North America.

Ollie is an exploration geoscientist with a decade of experience in the oil and gas industry working in the field internationally with WesternGeco, the geophysical wing of Schlumberger. Initially focused on acquiring, processing, and interpreting seismic reflection data, he diversified his skillset by joining the Seequent Energy team.
He now develops and teaches robust Leapfrog modelling workflows for high-enthalpy and low-temperature geothermal, offshore windfarm projects, CO2 and H2 storage and Lithium brine extraction. Additionally, Ollie manages Seequent’s Energy customer base in the EMEA region and provides technical advice concerning Seequent’s Geophysical solutions.Â
He is a member of the PESGB, EAGE, SEG, AAPG, a Fellow of the Geological Society and part of the WING UK committee.
