Airborne Magnetic Levelling & QC Workshop - Remote - February 2025

This course uses hands-on activities to demonstrate survey planning, calculating drape survey altitudes, statistical reporting. The course will cover several quality control tests: Altitude Deviation, Flight Path Deviation, Flight Line Separation, Flight/Tie Intersection Difference, Diurnal Drift Checks, Sensor Data Noise. Participants will learn how to batch apply QC to datasets and visualize the QC results. Participants will also take away an overview of current best practices and general airborne survey considerations during geophysical survey planning and data acquisition.

 

Tools for processing and enhancing airborne geophysical surveys will be covered, with focus on topics in: Applying Corrections, Tie-Line Levelling techniques and Microlevelling data.

 

Registration includes complimentary access to everything you need for the course, including Oasis montaj, Geophysics, Airborne QC and Levelling extensions.

Geoff Plastow

Senior Geophysicist

Seequent

Geoff is a professional Geophysicist with 15 years’ experience in mining exploration and applied geophysics.

Geoff has an educational background in Computer Science and Geophysics. He started his career processing and interpreting near-surface seismic data contributing to the National Earthquake Hazards Reduction Program in Canada.


Moving into exploration Geopshyics, he has experience with airborne and ground geophysical data specializing in Electromagnetic, Potential Fields and Radiometric techniques.


Geoff has been using Oasis montaj for over 10 years and is an active member of the Geophysical community and the Geosoft GX Development Community.


In 2018 Geoff joined Seequent and is based in Vancouver, Canada. In his current role as Senior Geophysicist he contributes to training, project assistance, and supporting users globally.
