Bastien Poux is Director and Principal Senior Geologist at Aetna Geothermal, a registered Professional Geoscientist (EGBC) with over 17 years of geothermal expertise. He has contributed to exploration and evaluation of projects across the USA, Mexico, Chile, the Caribbean, France, Iceland, Croatia, Djibouti, Canada, and Turkey, including roles as Project Geologist for EGS Inc., Wellsite Geologist and 3D Modeler for Iceland GeoSurvey (ÍSOR), Senior Geothermal Geologist for Dewhurst Group, and technical manager of geothermal clients in the Americas for Seequent.
In 2022, he founded Aetna Geothermal, a consulting firm specializing in geothermal resource exploration, resource assessment, wellsite geology, and 3D modeling for clients worldwide.
Josh is a Geophysicist specializing in geophysical processing, interpretation, and geological modelling for Energy exploration and feasibility studies. He holds a Bachelor’s in Geophysics from Memorial University and is registered as a Professional Geoscientist through Engineers and Geoscientists BC.
Josh has extensive experience using Leapfrog and Oasis montaj for Geothermal exploration projects, using Leapfrog's dynamic model building tools for early-stage exploration and structural interpretation to create a conceptual model of the subsurface.
Integration and management of data from multiple fields of geoscience is key to developing a holistic understanding of the subsurface, which is Josh’s main focus area at Seequent.
Josh joined Seequent in 2017 and is based in Vancouver, Canada. In his current role as Project Geophysicist he contributes to Training, Support, and Technical advice to Oasis montaj and Leapfrog users in North America.
